Vandals vandalized the Water Arena in Ternopil
Residents of Ternopil are reporting on social media about the vandalism of the long-suffering Ternopil Water Arena.
“Ternopil Water Arena: devastation. In just a few weeks, the Ternopil Water Arena has turned into a wasteland. Surveillance cameras are missing, only cables are hanging. Locks are broken. Inside, there is trash. Only traces remain of several lights on the walls; the lights themselves have been torn out. Even the letters of the name were ripped off and left on the pedestal. Information boards are cut up. Banners lie on the floor. Weeds are growing in front of the stands and even at the entrance. There were always weeds on the territory, but what is this destruction? Why? Why was a sports facility that was built quite recently and that the city was proud of so quickly neglected? By the way, this was one of the Great Construction projects. The cost, according to available data, was 68 million hryvnias, including almost 26 million hryvnias allocated from the Ternopil city budget,” wrote user Volodymyr Halytskyi.
The information about the vandalism at the Ternopil Water Arena was confirmed by the Deputy Head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration, Stepan Kuibida.
“We have received information from concerned citizens and the media that the Ternopil Water Arena has been vandalized. Currently, an authorized person from the Department of Infrastructure Development of the Regional State Administration, together with law enforcement officers and the contractor, is documenting the damage and collecting all necessary information. An official statement is being prepared for the Main Directorate of the National Police. We need to find out who is responsible for this vandalism and hold them accountable. Thank you to everyone who raised this issue. We will keep you informed,” said Stepan Kuibida.
